About MITRA

iVolunteer is an initiative of MITRA, a not-for-profit organisation working in the social sector in India, headquartered in Delhi. MITRA was established in November 2000 as an entrepreneurial initiative by a group of graduates from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA). Today MITRA has grown nation wide and has offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.

MITRA enables people to bring skills and expertise to the rural and social development sector in India.

India’s social and rural development needs are unquestionably substantial, however MITRA believes that the answer lies with its people. India has a wealth of home grown skills and expertise which when utilised in the right organisations will make a significant difference in meeting India’s social and rural development needs. MITRA envisions becoming the leading organisation in India to bring about that change. MITRA’s aim is to drive a consistently high level of skills and expertise to the rural and social development sector to meet India’s development needs.
