iVolunteer India Fellow is an exclusive volunteering programme for passionate Indians to come and share their skills in rural development organisations for mutual benefit. These passionate Indians become Fellows and gain first hand experience of the developmental challenges and confront their personal boundaries as well, to make a positive impact towards nation building.
This is in tune with the principles at iVolunteer where we believe that volunteering is a principal way to address India's social development needs. Hence, we bring a range of programmes , in India and abroad, which enables volunteers to share their time, skills, and passion to bring about a significant positive impact. With iVolunteer India Fellow Professional programme , we bring an opportunity to skilled corporate professionals to share their skills and time for the development of rural India.
History
iVolunteer India Fellow was initiated in 2005 with the aim to enable the motivated, talented and passionate youth to experience first hand rural India's development challenges and explore ways to make a positive impact. Since the launch of the programme , more than 150 Fellows have worked cumulatively for more than 900 weeks, in rural Uttarakhand , Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
In 2007, recognizing the need for professional skills and expertise in the development sector, iVolunteer launched the India Fellow Professional Programme . We are proud to continue it into 2009 where the Professional Programme aims to bring skills and expertise of working professionals from the private sector to the rural social and development sector in India. It fits the skills of a professional to match the needs of the NGO.
