GYAN: Powering Your Presentation

If these are questions you have been wanting to discuss and address, iVolunteer brings you a platform to do so through a highly customized training session on “Creating a Powerful Powerpoint Presentation" to be held on June 29, 2019 from 09.30am to 04.30pm as part of GYAN, our initiative where we have professionals volunteering to discuss the above situations faced by NGOs on various skills to help increase their efficiency.

The resource person is Ayan Pal is an IBM-Accredited IT Professional, Speaker, and Author with 11 titles to his credit, best known for his novel ‘Confessions on an Island’. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (VTU, Karnataka) and has completed a course in Education Technology (SDSU, California).

He is a currently considered as one of the 50 most influential communicators and leaders worldwide, as per the Wikipedia page of Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organization headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. He was the first person from Kolkata to have received its highest recognition - ‘Distinguished Toastmaster’, for outstanding communication and leadership skills. He was adjudged the District Champion of Impromptu Speaking for the world’s #1 District for 2016-2017 – District 41, serving North & East India along with Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. He has taken on several leadership roles in the past including that of a Club Executive Committee Member (34 Times), Area Governor / Director (2 Times), Division Governor, District Newsletter Editor, Pathways Ambassador, and Pathways Guide. He is currently serving as a Division Director.

The morning session would include:
Elements of a successful Powerpoint Presentation for an NGO
Description of Organizational Focus
Your target - Know your audience
Your story - Know what you wish to convey
Your emotional hook - Know what you wish to make them feel
Your goals - Know what you want them to take away
Your accomplishments - Examples of work done
Clarity of message
Know what you want them to do

The afternoon session would include:
Creating and review of your Powerpoint Presentation
Creating your presentation
Sharing your presentation
Peer evaluation of your presentation
Closing

We will walk though the planning, creation, sharing and review of a Powerpoint to help an NGO create an effective presentation to convey their mission, work and their goals. A peer review will follow to enable constructive feedback for all participants.

The workshop is suitable for all NGO Leaders, Development Sector Professionals. It will be helpful in exploring weak and strong areas in each individual. It is also recommended for people who want to adopt new writing techniques and gain creative practices in terms of presentating the organisation and content production.

The participant will be required to carry a laptop installed with Powerpoint and come prepared with their organisation’s information, images, and relevant data. Participants are welcome to submit specific questions related to this subject ahead of the event date so that we can try to address them where possible.

We are glad to share that all participants of GYAN will be eligible to receive a “Certificate of Completion/Participation” from iVolunteer. As always the session is for a maximum of 10 participants, with a maximum of 2 per NGO.
