The resource person is Aruna Jyothi Patapati with  
11+ years of grassroots experience in Women and Child Development. Apart from the full time journey in various roles: Program Development, execution, Fund Raising, Impact Assessment and Evaluation, Strategy Development and designing Volunteering programs, Aruna has been a Mentor and Consultant to non-profits working on Education and Livelihood development, especially in human-centered program development and design thinking. A Freedom Writers Fellow (USA) and served in post-conflict Uganda (Africa). Enthusiastic about cross cultural and interdisciplinary learning and collaborations and a continuous learner and backpacker to explore Best Practices in Love & Care across world.


The participants will reflect on the causes they work on, segregate aspirational goals and thus, define projects in more tangible goals with a reasonably clearer road map. This helps NGOs to easily customize their proposals for different donors. 

AGENDA:
Round of Introduction and Ice breaker (15 min)
Session 1: GEARING UP – Building a Logical Framework. What can we expect from Donor?
Duration: 60 min (lecture) + 30 min (workshop) 
Methodology: Case-based lecture
a.	What am I proposing? Service or a project?  
b.	What do I expect from my pitch/ proposal? (one-time support / partnership/ long term relationship/ award etc) – Different types of proposals
c.	Where am I? 
a.	Vision or Goals
b.	Aspirational or Operational 
c.	Outcome or output
d.	What are the resources and my underlying assumptions?
e.	Are my goals relevant to the Goals of other stakeholders? (Donors/ Volunteers/ Philanthropists)   
Hands-on: “Theory of Change” Template 

Session 2: Writing an effective proposal. What does a Donor expect from NGO?
Duration: 60 min (lecture) + 30 min (workshop)
Methodology: Case based lecture
a.	Scope or Scale? Person-driven or process-driven?
b.	What am I going to achieve – SMART? 
c.	Building a life cycle from Start to End of proposed achievement
d.	Frequently Asked Questions from Donor. What are the factors considered by Donor before approving or rejecting a proposal? 
e.	How to develop a strategy for Donor-centric Proposals 
Hands-on: “Executive Summary”, “Project Proposal” Templates 

Session 3: ACTION STAGE!  
Duration: 90 min 
Methodology: Cases picked from attendee’s organizations, Building Action Plan for next 6 months, QA
a.	Donor proposal – A Mock Trail
b.	Feedback Process - Finetuning the Action plan with help of fellow
c.	List out action items for next 3 months
a.	Specific action items, responsible team members, timelines
b.	Support needed – identifying resources

Conclusion
