Community Engagement - Jagriti Yatra
Purpose:
To redefine the Alumni Spirit. Focusing to gain maximum during and after this lockdown for the alumni community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To take responsibility to carry on engagement activities.
2. Alumni retention on Alumni portal.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Designing/ writing skills (add on)
2. Persistent on the job
3. Understand the spirit of entrepreneurship and networking time commitment.
4. Must have worked in community engagement or customer retention before. (Even if you haven’t and you are still interested, you are invited!)
Time Commitment:
3-4 hrs a day | Three - Four days a week | Minimum 2- 3 months commitment required
About NGO:
Replicated globally, Jagriti Yatra is an ambitious train journey of discovery and transformation that takes hundreds of India's highly motivated youth, especially those who are from small towns and villages of India. It's a journey of 15 days, 8000 km national odyssey to meet the role models - social and business entrepreneurs - of the country. The vision of Jagriti is 'building India through enterprise'.
Every year in its quest to ‘build India through enterprise’, the Yatra nurtures entrepreneurship among 500 rigorously selected youth of India. In its decade-long journey, it has created a community of 5000+ sensitized leaders in India and across the globe. The entrepreneurial train journey introduces the Yatris to role models who have taken an entrepreneurial route to find solutions in areas like agriculture, health, water, sanitation, livelihood generation, etc. Through the Yatra, Jagriti provides the Yatris a network of people to work on their idea, resources to convert ideas into actions and the opportunity to come back after Yatra in a rural setting to develop business plans to solve problems of that area.
Impact:
Our success rate in motivating participants to be changemaker / Job creator has been 28% in the past 11 years, over 1000 new enterprises have come out of 5000 Yatri Alumni creating over 1200 jobs. Our focus is on participants from small towns and villages, who are passionate to look at exploring innovating solution to the rural problems.
We have had institutional partners like TCSRD- Kasturi, Odisha Skill India, Pradhan, Mission Youth J&K nominating their team members and stakeholders for this experiential program.
