Interaction with India’s Glass Women Osteogenesis Imperfecta

iVolunteer is celebrating the independence Day  by spreading the awareness  about Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). The osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) also known as brittle bone disease.Osteogenesis imperfecta is caused by defective genes. These genes affect how the body makes collagen; a protein that helps strengthen bones.

The condition can be mild, with only a few fractures during a person's lifetime. In more severe cases, it can involve hundreds of fractures that occur without any apparent cause.Treatments include bone-strengthening medication, physiotherapy and orthopaedic surgery.

Ms Dhanya Ravi (Pro bono) is born with a rare genetic disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), known as India's glass women. Recipient of State and National award. She is a TEDx and JoshTalk speaker.
Her life stories and her experience of meeting different people around the globe through the Disability Awareness and Advocacy Program have brought many testimonials from young youths and elderly persons from distinct occupation.
