Teach Students Virtually
Project description:
The teacher volunteer connects to a digital classroom in Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute & School (SSMI), through Skype/Zoom, and conducts a live, interactive class for 2 hours every week. A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is expected from each volunteer. The subjects to be taught are English, Mathematics, Science.
Each Volunteer is assigned a grade (5th, 6th, 7th or 8th) in school class. The selected volunteers need to be fluent in Hindi, English. Powered by advanced technology and an elaborate syllabus, Teacher Volunteers virtually engage with the children on a real time basis and perform the tasks of teaching/demonstrating the pre-planned topics and concepts, appropriate to the student’s grade. They extensively use online teaching resources, including digitized textbooks that is provided to them. They are also offered constant support from an online Coordinator at the back end.
Requirments:
• Able to Read, Write and SpeakHindi, English.
• Access to a Desktop/Laptop with high speed Internet (1 Mbps).
• Comfortable with browsing websites like YouTube, Google Search, PDF documents etc.
• Eager to include passion and commitment to the cause of quality education.
• Use online teaching resources, including digitized textbooks and other such material that is provided by eVidyaloka.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Volunteer has to teach either Math or Science and English.
2. Volunteer will have to give two hours for teaching.
3. Volunteer will have to teach children from 9th Std to 10th Std.
Time Duration: Feasible as per volunteer
Location: Online/ Virtual
Time Commitments: Anytime for 2 hours between 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm
