About the NGO:
Paint it Red aims to educate, engage and empower communities to rid stereotypes around periods, creating a space for menstrual rights & reduce period poverty.
EDUCATE Blood, Stains and Periods are a monthly process for all non-menopausal adolescent girls and womxn. Yet, only 12% of India’s girls and women have access to period products as lack of education and cost of hygiene deter support in this field.
ENGAGE The mission of the organisation is to spread awareness about menstruation among underprivileged womxn and girls in India. The idea is to remove taboos around the topic and help bridge gaps by providing concrete information.
EMPOWER Only 48% of the adolescent girls in India are aware of menstruation before their first period. Our short and safe workshops are educating girls on the importance of hygiene to help erase taboos and face their periods head on!
