This flagship category is open to individuals of all ages who have devoted their time and skills for the betterment of the community between January 2023 to December 2023. Whether you've volunteered on your own or through a non-profit organisation, your contributions have made a difference, and we want to celebrate your efforts.
Additionally, if you are someone who has implemented innovative green solutions at the intersection of STEM, climate change, gender equality, and overall well-being, we invite you to apply for our special Green Guardians category at the end of this application form.

Evaluation criteria:
- The positive impact made on the community or organisation
- Evidence of initiative and innovative approaches
- Commitment of the volunteer
- Sustainability of the project post the volunteering period has ended
- Duration of the service and total number of volunteer hours contributed
Eligibility criteria:
- Indian citizens of any age group can apply for Volunteer Hero
- Only volunteering efforts done from January 2023 to December 2023 will be considered
- Winners from the past two years are not eligible to apply

Selection Process
Receiving applications and initial screening
The awards team will conduct an initial review of all entries submitted for the iVolunteer Awards.
Review by panel of experts & public voting (in parallel)
If your entry is selected, a brief summary of your volunteering experience will be posted on the iVolunteer Awards website. This synopsis will serve as your public profile, allowing people to learn about your work and vote for you. Simultaneously, a panel of experts will review all applications and score them as per the evaluation criteria mentioned above.
Shortlisting finalists
The top ten finalists will be selected based on a combined score from voting and the expert panel.
Interview Round
Our team will conduct in-depth online interviews with the top 10 finalists to understand their volunteering background.
Winner selection by the grand jury
The grand jury, consisting of representatives from diverse backgrounds, will meet virtually to select the winners. The winners' names will be kept confidential by the awards committee.
Declarations of winners
The Volunteer Hero category winner will be revealed alongside other awardees at the iVolunteer Awards Ceremony.
