Purpose: The purpose of this volunteer opportunity is to aid elderly individuals in managing their daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and providing emotional support. This role is crucial in helping the elderly maintain their independence and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with paperwork and administrative tasks.
- Help with shopping and running errands.
- Guide the elderly in using gadgets and technology.
- Read to those with failing eyesight.
- Accompany them to doctor visits and provide support during medical appointments.
- Offer companionship and emotional support during hospital stays.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Compassion and empathy towards the elderly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of technology to assist with gadgets (training will be provided if necessary).
- Patience and reliability.
- No prior experience is required.
Location: Pune. 3-5 km from your location
Time Commitment: Flexible time slots are available; volunteers can choose their hours. Each service session is typically short in duration, making it easier to fit into various schedules.
Compensation:
Volunteers are paid Rs. 50 per hour and travel expenses as compensation.
Number of Volunteers: Open to multiple volunteers based on demand and availability.
