The camp involves training on gender issues, environmental awareness, health, rights, arts, crafts, sports, literacy, digital awareness and more. Teachers, trained in these domains are delivering these workshops and this is an invite to join our teams for a month of high-energy creative engagement with rural girl children. How do I use Powerpoint to make a powerful and impactful presentation? How should I organise my content to make my presentation flow better? Will a good presentation inspire people to support my organization? How can I be more confident while presenting? How do I create compelling visuals? If these are questions you have been wanting to discuss and address, iVolunteer brings you a platform to do so through a highly customized training session on “Creating a Powerful Powerpoint Presentation" to be held on June 29, 2019 from 09.30am to 04.30pm as part of GYAN, our initiative where we have professionals volunteering to discuss the above situations faced by NGOs on various skills to help increase their efficiency. The resource person is Ayan Pal is an IBM-Accredited IT Professional, Speaker, and Author with 11 titles to his credit, best known for his novel ‘Confessions on an Island’. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (VTU, Karnataka) and has completed a course in Education Technology (SDSU, California). He is a currently considered as one of the 50 most influential communicators and leaders worldwide, as per the Wikipedia page of Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organization headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. He was the first person from Kolkata to have received its highest recognition - ‘Distinguished Toastmaster’, for outstanding communication and leadership skills. He was adjudged the District Champion of Impromptu Speaking for the world’s #1 District for 2016-2017 – District 41, serving North & East India along with Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. The Kargil war was fought in 1999 between India and Pakistan in Kargil, Ladakh where India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July and resulted in the loss of life on both sides, India and Pakistan and with the India regain possessions of Kargil. Title: Fundraising for the organisation Purpose: EMPATHY foundation needs volunteers who can raise funds for them from corporates, banks or CSR Departments. Location: EMPATHY Foundation, Chembur, Mumbai Key Responsibilities: 1. Volunteer has to visit the organisation once a week. 2. Volunteer would have to talk to corporates or banks and build a rapport in order to raise funds for EMPATHY Foundation. 3. Volunteer would be getting training from the organisation as to how to raise funds, build rapport with corporates and banks. Time Duration: 3 months Skills and Experience Required: 1. Good communication skills. 2. Passionate and dedicated to their work. About EMPATHY Foundation: The core activity of EMPATHY Foundation is to work in the Educational field and Healthcare. They emphasise on Rural Maharashtra. They undertake the construction of school projects for Grampanchayat & Zilla Parishad Schools. Besides school projects, they also conduct free medical (Eye) camps. They have organised more than 805 Medical / Eye Camps.

Antarang Foundation’s Mentoring Program ‘Mentors of Mumbai’ is a voluntary opportunity for experienced working professionals to provide guidance and insight to low-income youth. The focus of the program is development and empowerment, with an underlying focus on personal and professional growth. Our vision is “to promote the academic, career and social development of students by providing them with a role model who will guide and support them through their journey of professional discovery and accomplishment.” The 12-month program comprises one monthly meeting (2 hours/month), bi-weekly phone calls, office visits and exposure, and conversations on relevant subjects. Presently, we have 2 mentoring models: 1+1 (2) and group mentoring (3-4). We match as per gender, location & sector. The mentoring sessions are expected to take place at the mentor’s office, our office or at any public place. We encourage thought and dialogue on topics such as aspirations, communication, prioritization, professionalism, work etiquette and more. We assess the growth of the students through our CareeReady Diagnostic tool that measures the student on Self Awareness, Career Awareness, and Skills & Mindset. Mentors are provided with a Mentoring Manual which is a tool that consists of relevant topics & activities to be used for the mentoring sessions. Our students are within the age group of 17 to 25, and reside in various communities across Mumbai such as Dahisar, Ghatkopar, Govandi, Mankhurd, Kurla, Dharavi, Wadala, Worli, Parel, Reay Road, Mahalakshmi and Cuffe Parade. Our mentors hail from distinct sectors including banking, finance, information technology, business, beauty and wellness, hospitality, medicine, shipping, and more. We take pride in our diversity because we strongly believe that experience and knowledge rests in the individual and their story. We believe that mentors could serve as guides and facilitate discussion and deliberation regarding the future of a student’s career, personality or development of skills and abilities. Lastly, the objective of Mentors of Mumbai is to build a long-lasting relationship of trust, confidence and support. It also aims toward moving the mentee on the employability parameters.
