Teach Rural India online today

The teacher volunteer connects to a digital classroom in a rural village, through Skype/ Gmeet, and conducts a live, interactive class for 2 hours every week. A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is expected from each volunteer. The subjects to be taught are English, Mathematics, Science.
Each Volunteer is assigned a grade (5th, 6th, 7th or 8th) in a school located in one of the remote Government schools of India. The volunteers have to profficient in reading/ writing & speaking in any one of the following regional languages: Bengali, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu or Tamil. Powered by advanced technology and an elaborate syllabus, Teacher Volunteers virtually engage with the children on a real time basis and perform the tasks of teaching/demonstrating the pre-planned topics and concepts, appropriate to the student’s grade. They extensively use online teaching resources, including digitized textbooks that is provided to them. They are also offered constant support from an online eVidyaloka Coordinator at the back end.
 

 

Objective: 
eVidyaloka is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming the educational landscape of rural India. Registered under the Trusts Act, the organization creates digital classrooms for children in remote villages, with the support of local communities and volunteer-teachers from across the globe. With standardized lesson plans and teaching aids for a consistent learning experience, the children from government schools receive e-quality education for a promising & rewarding future. Through this task. the Volunteer Teacher helps the NGO provide the much-needed quality education via Skype.

Requirments:

• Able to Read, Write and Speak any one of the following regional languages: Bengali, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannda or Tamil. 
• Access to a Desktop/Laptop with high speed Internet (1 Mbps), headset and web cam. 
• Comfortable with browsing websites like YouTube, Google Search, PDF documents etc. 
• Eager to include passion and commitment to the cause of quality education.
• Use online teaching resources, including digitized textbooks and other such material that is provided by eVidyaloka.

*A minimum commitment of 2 hours in a weeks is expected from each volunteer.
