Helping the Staff in Photoshop
About the Organisation: Step Up for India was started when a few volunteers came to the common conclusion that the English reading skills of children in the 4th and 5th grade in Karnataka’s government schools was significantly lower than the textbook level. They realised that there was a real need to find a solution to teaching English keeping in mind constraints of volunteers, students and the system. They have created a highly structured English curriculum and founded a ‘Volunteer Team Teaching’ system that enables short-term volunteers to effectively teach students who have no help otherwise. Purpose of the Project: Step Up for India are looking for volunteers who will be able to work closely with the designated communication person in the organisation to capture their contributions in photographs. They are looking for one-time individuals who are adept with photography and basic designing on Photoshop, CorelDraw or advanced Canva to create, conceptualise and record their activities in government schools with photographs. Key Responsibilities:
- Capture high-resolution images of Step Up for India’s work in government schools
- Be able to effectively tell stories through pictures
- Work closely with the communication person
- Design infographics, posters and social media posts
Impact: Photographs are often the most powerful way of conveying a message. We are hoping that you will be able to create powerful photographs that can capture the work of Step Up for India efficiently. Time Commitment: Ongoing engagement, can also be a one-time session.
