Help NGO in compliance through a Mini Whiteboard

The Whiteboard initiative brings people with management skills together to work with organisations like a Board might. Organisations often need help across various aspects of their functioning from crafting a strategy to HR, a finance policy and plan to marketing and determining impact . This is specially true of smaller organisations that struggle to find resources to hire human resource to do some of these critical tasks . The key element of the Whiteboard initiative is the value that the group dynamic will bring to the organisation. You will work with a group of others with diverse skill sets. As a group will engage with the organisation helping not just detail their key pain areas but also take the ownership for finding strategic solutions. this initiative will help you a) hone your learning and skills in a challenging environment b) inspire leadership skills c) develop empathy and the ability to work with different types of people as well as peers. You will be expected to work with your team to deliver outcomes to the NGO over a 2 month period . Your engagement will be facilitated by iVolunteer . The needs of the NGO will be revalidated by you in your initial interactions with them. 
You will:
  • Create, manage, execute benefits/incentive package
  • Assist in writing employee handbook/other onboarding material
  • Ensure compliance with hiring laws and other related laws and policies
  • Work with tech staff to ensure data security for confidential materials
  • Develop onboarding and training program
  • Help create and executive DEI program
  • Participate in end-to-end recruiting and retention projects
  • Work with senior staff to create and develop new roles as needs
  • Be a culture driver and bridge between junior and senior staff
  • Mediate and problem-solve potential conflicts
  • Create and execute formal evaluation and feedback process
  • Survey the well-being/satisfaction of staff and brainstorm solutions from the feedback
  • Assist/support junior staff in their career development and interests
  • Be a confidant and advocate for all staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in Human Resources / Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion / Recruiting
  • Thoughtful communicator and exercise extreme discretion
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential material
  • Psychology and Communications experience is a plus
  • Experience working for nonprofits
  • Comfortable working with people with a wide range of experiences
  • Basic understanding of Non-profit company organization structure
