Organization Profile

Some reports claim that kids who read 20 minutes a day , score in the 90th percentile on standardized tests. Many such report emphasize the importance of developing the habit of reading. However, 2 million kids in India cannot afford to own a book, average price for which is Rs. 30 (that’s less than the parking fee we pay in a mall every weekend). Further, even the kids who get access to books through school libraries or other sources do not have an effective teacher/mentor to evoke their interest in reading. Books For All uses a 4 step model to provide books to kids in an “assisted reading” environment to make sure they inculcate the habit of reading, which in turn would impact their academic performance.
