R ” in RNisarg stands for Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Recycle and when spoken emphasis on the planet being “ OUR ” We aim to create & share simple, sustainable solutions for a healthy planet for all living beings by working on the principle of self-awareness, self-discipline and self-participation. We are currently working in a city called Thane with a population of 20 lakhs. We are a small team who is equipped to develop sustainable solutions for our city, which are sustainable and scalable. However our limited manpower challenges us to scale. We believe that as an UNSDSN partner, we can interact and ideate with best minds across the world, which will help us nurture and shape our ideas and scale through developing more partners thereby creating the much needed change that the world needs. We work on all verticals of waste generation 1. Prarambh: A City which generates 750 metric tons of daily waste and has 3 daily accidents due to unsafe road habits, through Prarambh, we empower school students to solve the burning issues Waste Management and Road Safety. Follow The Monkey: It is an initiative to support residential societies, commercial complex, temples and slums to manage their waste responsibly everyday. Till date, we have supported 100+ residential societies, 5 Temples, 5+ commercial complex and have adopted a slum with a population of 100 dwellers to manage their waste. 3. Kagadam: A one of its kind project, we have installed Paper recycling unit with an aim to create awareness on recycling paper waste, create a market for handmade recycled paper and generate livelihood opportunities (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cthkGUoLjZ0) 4. Sakhi: Initiative to reduce menstrual waste generation in the city through a hub and spoke model. We train maternity nursing homes to become Sakhi Centre and thus promote menstrual cup among their female patients. 5.
