ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Satya Special School was founded in 2003 to serve as an integrated and holistic center for disability rehabilitation in Pondicherry. Satya is working tirelessly towards making CWSNs (Children with Special Needs) as independent as possible and alleviating the social stigma that affects these individuals and their families.Currently, around 950 children with special needs are under the care of Satya Special School. We function in 7 urban and 3 rural centers. There is a Mobile therapy unit which covers 44 rural villages of Pondicherry by providing home based services to over 124 disabled children. Satya Special School runs the NEW BORN HIGH RISK clinic in JIPMER the only one in Southern India to identify children at birth susceptible to a developmental delay at a later stage.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
The purpose of conducting community based outreach program to disseminate and aware the population on understanding disability. We conduct program for direct as well as indirect stakeholders pertaining to disability. This in turn benefits the community to cater the CWSNs, preventive measures to minimize the population etc.
KEY PROJECT OBJECTIVES
To sensitize and aware the stakeholders on understanding disability.
To promote the unheard and unseen elements of person with disability.
PROJECT DELIVERABLES
“Perspective Click” (It’s not just a click)
As the project is on Community outreach the deliverables is similar with project agenda. The artist needs to attend the program as per schedule and he/she will be informed well in advance to him/her to make the best memory out of it through his/her clicks. The individual who feels can fit in this are most welcome.
