Team Volunteering for Digital Utsav
About the Event: There are millions of NGOs in Indian working towards the most pressing issues in our society. While these NGOs have the intent and passion, many of them still lack effective, powerful channels to take their work to more people and supporters. This includes many of them not having even a website. This Daan Utsav (India’s festival of giving), Bhumi will be supporting around 1,000 NGOs by building and revamping a key aspect of their identity and work – their website. Process: ● Once registered, volunteers go through an orientation to understand the initiative, team structure, their specific roles and guidelines specific to the role ● Volunteers, in teams of 4, will then be mapped to a particular NGO they will be designing the website for. ● The four volunteer roles include: 1.Team lead: One point of contact between the team members and NGO Point of Contact. Ensures constant communication with NGO and also manages the volunteering team to ensure the website completion is meeting the expected outcomes - quality & timeline Skills Required: Leadership quality and Management Skills 2. Web designer: Create an end-to-end website for the NGO using WordPress. Communicate with Team lead, Creative and Content volunteers in ensuring the website is meeting expectations in terms of outcomes. Skill Required: Gradaute in Computers, Certified in Wordpress & Knowledge about Website Designing 3.Creative designer : Creating illustrated infographics for sharing on social media. Creating visuals for social media. Collect needs and requirements from the Team lead and Web designer in designing creatives and posters to be part of the website. Skills Required of a Volunteer: Knows Graphic Designing, Experience with Adobe Illustrator & Illustration experience 4.Content writer :Responsible for researching and writing impressive and engaging content for their website. Ability to structure, good grammar and editing skills, analyze and write high-quality reports. Edit the content produced by other members of the NGO Require Excellent writing and strong communication skills Skills Required: Fluency in English Excellent writing skills ● Volunteer team is supported by various support teams in their tasks and overall contribution.
